Household and business gas and electric supplier British Gas has released a warning to all Britons to be ready for winter. The leading energy supplier is contacting mum-to-be’s to ensure their homes are ready for the cold season. Research by Mumsnet indicated that a massive 50% of mothers surveyed endured a boiler breakdown when a young child or baby was in the house; so be organised and steer clear of a heating disaster.
The poll, that was commissioned by British Gas, said that one in 10 mums do not know how to check whether their heating or hot water is working properly and as Christmas draws near, this is alarming. UK temperatures are going to drop over the festive period and it will be extremely damaging to a family to be left without gas over the freezing holiday. A top tip is to contact the home or business gas suppliers before hand, to ensure everything is working efficiently.
As reported by the study, expectant parents are prioritising activities like decorating the nursery and buying baby clothes rather than important simple household checks. When your little baby boy or girl arrives it is extremely exciting but don’t lose focus on making sure that the property is equipped for wintertime. For both new parents and business owners, being left without hot water and heating at this time of year can be extremely stressful. Bypass an emergency event by taking precautions now like bleeding the radiators, to evade a pricey repair charge. Brits can also start the New Year by checking business gas prices to save money in 2012.
